Evaluation and Treatment of Musculoskeletal
Dysfunction
Physical therapists
are experts at treating problems pertaining to human movement.
Whether it is pain, stiffness, weakness, or poor
mechanics/technique, we can evaluate your specific situation and set
up a personal plan of care to help get you back to the activities
you love.

Neuromuscular Re-Education
Using biofeedback, electrical
stimulation, and video analysis, we can show you how to optimize
your muscle function to prevent or to recover from an injury.
Proprioceptive Training
Balance is critical in
rehabilitating from and preventing injuries such as ankle sprains
and anterior cruciate ligament tears in active individuals. At ESPT,
we can help design a program to improve your balance in both static
and dynamic sport-specific activities.
Body
Mechanics/Ergonomics Education
We can evaluate your posture and
positioning with activities at work, in sports/exercise, or at home,
and make recommendations to help prevent the development of
repetitive stress injuries (RSI).
Sport-Specific Training
With our Director’s vast amount of
sports experience and certification by the NSCA as a Strength and
Conditioning Specialist, we can tailor a program to help you achieve
your athletic goals of going higher and being stronger and faster.
Biomechanical Foot Evaluation
With our practice model where
everyone has a full hour visit, we can spend time thoroughly
evaluating your foot mechanics in many different positions to
determine what type of foot orthosis and treatment will be most
effective for your condition.

Manual
Therapy
At every ESPT session, you
will receive some form of hands-on care, whether it’s stretching,
soft-tissue massage, myofascial release, or joint mobilization, to
help decrease your symptoms and improve your quality of movement.
Home
Exercise Program
From your very first
session at ESPT, we will customize an exercise program that will
allow you to take control of your injury and manage your health. Our
goal is to educate you, so that you can better care for yourself. We
want you to know that you can depend on ESPT to help, but we want to
empower you so you don’t have to rely on us. Remember, you are
ultimately the one in charge of your own health.
Video
Biomechanical Analysis
Using a video recording along with
our analysis software, we can freeze frame you doing your favorite
activities, so you can see the corrections that need to be made to
alleviate your pain and improve your function.
Personal Training
In
today’s healthcare system, many patients are discharged from
physical therapy at only 75% to 80% recovered. Decisions are
made not by qualified healthcare professionals, but by
insurance companies who are more concerned about revenue,
than patient care. At ESPT, we are offering personal
training to help ease the transition for patients back into
their recreational and functional activities. By working
with a personal trainer at ESPT, patients can continue to
improve flexibility, strength, and endurance in a setting
with licensed physical therapists present to make sure their
programs do not cause any unnecessary setbacks.

Dance Medicine (Dublin only)
There are three main
areas where we can help serve dancers. The goal is to prevent
injuries before they happen by addressing any imbalances in muscle
flexibility or strength and assessing any faults in technique that
may need modification. Some of the specific programs we offer are:
Injury Prevention Screening, Pointe Shoe Readiness Screening, Dance
Physical Therapy.
Pilates Mat Classes (Fremont only)
Pilates is a form
of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s, which
emphasizes balanced development of the body through core strength,
flexibility, and body awareness. Core strength is at the heart of
Pilates, and when internal muscles do their job, smooth and
efficient motion is the result. Pilates is one of the most popular
exercise systems in the country today.
Pilates Reformer Training (Dublin only)
Pilates
Reformer Training is a wonderful way to transform the way your body
feels, looks, and performs. Using the Allegro Reformer by Balanced
Body, this multi-functional piece of equipment helps individuals
integrate core strength into body movement. The result is a full
head-to-toe workout that keeps you toned, lean, and in control of
your body for simple daily activities or athletic performance.
